The project is being executed by the not-for-profit organization, Shehri-Citizens for a Better Environment (www.shehri.org) and is sponsored by the National Endowment for Democracy (www.ned.org). This effort is a drive to acknowledge, enhance and promote youth social activism for societal change, working within the democratic space and contributing to nurturing an inclusive and equitable society. The youth after knowledge enhancement beyond the classroom learning space would be mobilized, pro-actively engaged in the policy arena, as informed rational thinking citizens, capable of evaluating the social contract with citizens and the state.
The project aims to educate and develop the understanding of youth in the principles and objectives of fundamental rights as enshrined in the constitution, promotion of civic education, create awareness about civic responsibilities and an appreciation of their rights and obligations as citizens of Pakistan.
