Habib University - Exposure Visit

Youth Empowerment For Engaged Citizenship - Habib University

Shehri-Citizens for a Better Environment (Shehri-CBE) successfully organized an exposure visit for Habib University students to the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Head Office as part of the project “Youth Empowerment for Engaged Citizenship”.

The Exposure Visit took place on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. As Karachi’s main municipal authority, the KMC Head Office provided students with practical insights into the workings and challenges of local governance. Approximately 30 to 40 students from Habib University, primarily from social science and policy-related programs, were expected to attend

This visit was a key component of the “Youth Empowerment for Engaged Citizenship” project, which aims to provide students with a first-hand experience of how public institutions function, how decisions are made, and how services are delivered. The hands-on experience helps bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world governance, promoting civic awareness and preparing young people to become informed and engaged citizens.
