Shehri–Citizens for a Better Environment (Shehri-CBE) successfully organized a Panel Discussion as part of the ongoing Knowledge Workshops series at the Millennium Institute of Technology & Entrepreneurship (MITE), Karachi, on Tuesday, 7th October 2025, from 9:45 am to 12:00 pm.
The discussion, titled “Youth Empowerment for Engaged Citizenship,” focused on the work of not-for-profit and start-up organizations. Invited representatives engaged with participating students, sharing their experiences and insights on urban governance in Karachi. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of public policy, governance structures, and the role of civic engagement in addressing urban challenges.
This activity was a key component of the ongoing “Youth Empowerment for Engaged Citizenship” project by Shehri-CBE, which seeks to build youth capacity for informed civic activism and foster awareness of fundamental rights. Through such engagements, the initiative connects academic learning with real-world governance, encouraging young people to participate constructively in public policy processes.

The discussion provided students with valuable perspectives on the intersections between social entrepreneurship, governance, and sustainable urban development. The event concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, followed by lunch and informal networking between the panelists and students.
